Benjamin Freemantle is a Canadian-born, New York-based documentary and narrative filmmaker. He earned a BFA in Film & Television from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU with honors Summa Cum Laude.

Ben worked on the two-part Tiger Woods documentary series called Tiger, available on HBO, the Emmy-winning and Oscar-shortlisted feature documentary about the first wave of Covid-19 in New York City, called The First Wave, available on Hulu, and most recently, the feature-length documentary about Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Downey Sr.’s relationship called Sr., available on Netflix.  

He has been recognized for his directing work with numerous awards and official selections, including an Official Selection to the Academy Award-qualifying Bronzelens Film Festival (Mixed Feelings). 

Ben is a huge fan of dancing, running, and drinking coffee.
